Frequently Asked Questions

How does international parcel delivery work?

Whatever you need sent abroad, whether it is a one-off parcel or a regular shipment, our international parcel delivery service is topflight. We collect your parcel from your requested address and use our carefully selected service partner network to get your parcel to its destination safely and efficiently.

How do I book my international delivery?

Call our friendly, local team to book your international delivery. We will ask you some questions about your parcel, its weight and dimensions, and some information about where it is and where it is going.

What information do I need to get a quote?

When you call our friendly team to arrange your international parcel delivery, we will ask you some questions about your parcel. Please have the following information to hand:

• the collection and delivery addresses, including postcodes or zip codes etc.

• the weight and dimensions of the parcel

• a description of the goods

• the value of the goods

• what insurance you require

• which service you would like (express or economy)

Do I need to set up an account to send parcels internationally?

For international shipments you are required to have an account set up with us. To apply for a credit account, please complete our simple form and we will process your account as quickly as possible, usually within one working day.

How long do international deliveries take to arrive?

It depends on the country your parcel is being delivered to and what service you have chosen. Economy deliveries usually take 2 to 3 days and parcels sent with express delivery will arrive within 1 to 2 days.

Which countries do you collect from and deliver to?

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are ever-changing restrictions. It is therefore best to contact our customer service team who will be able to give you the latest information and advice.

Are there any other restrictions for international delivery?

International carriers have different rules and restrictions. Call our friendly team for personalised information about restrictions that may apply to you.

Do I need to label my parcel or will labels be provided?

We will label parcels once they are collected and brought back into our depot. We do, however, recommend that full delivery address details are visible on the shipment prior to us collecting.

Are there any documents I need to ship a package internationally?

You may need customs documentation in order to clear customs at your destination. For example, garments being shipped to and from non-EU countries require customs documentation. There are generally two types of customs invoices that could be required based on the purpose of the goods being sent.

1) A commercial invoice should be produced for goods that are being sold to the recipient and reflect a financial transaction between the two parties.

2) A proforma invoice should be produced for goods that are being supplied free of charge to the recipient i.e. samples / gifts / inter-company use goods.

What packaging is required for my parcel?

Priority Express will take every care to deliver your international parcel safely. Our professional couriers are specially trained in the safe handling of goods, but it is still important, whenever you send a parcel, to make sure it is packaged well. A sturdy box, some brown tape and packing materials like bubble wrap or packing paper will all help to keep your parcel safe during transit.

How soon will you collect my parcel after making my booking?

If we are collecting from the centre of Bristol, we can collect the same day and just require an hours' window. Outside of Bristol, we may need to book a day in advance.

Can I track my international delivery?

Yes, you can accurately track your international courier. Contact our customer service team and they will be able to give you a tracking number along with the latest status of your parcel.

Will I get proof of delivery?

Our advanced parcel tracking system will confirm when your parcel has been delivered. We will email the proof of delivery for international bookings to the email provided when booking.

Will someone need to be available to sign for the parcel?

Yes, someone will need to be there to accept the goods.

What happens if my recipient is not in when my parcel is delivered?

Your parcel will be taken back to the depot and a card will be left at the premises to rearrange delivery.

Could I incur any additional charges?

All our surcharges (for example, remote area charges, oversized items, overweight items etc.) will be quoted for when booking. When sending outside of the EU the recipient may have to pay import duties to get their goods released by customs. This varies depending on the country and is subject to change once details of Brexit have been revealed.

Are my goods insured during transit?

International shipments are only covered to a low amount as standard. For more expensive shipments we can offer enhanced liability. This is charged at 3% of the value of the goods (minimum charge £18).
